This work engages with Carl Jung’s ideas on the persona as a mask that conceals the true self in order to navigate society more comfortably. This plays an important part of the digital world and social media and the creation of online personas and echo chambers. My art explores this socially imposed persona manifested within the online world where anonymity or hyper notoriety are championed. What are the ramifications of these online personas? “Persona project” applies this question specifically to online echo chambers through creating an Instagram profile for each mask and documenting them as they interact with one another.
